Evoke™ Spinal Cord Stimulation
Smart spinal cord stimulation from Saluda Medical for chronic back, leg, and nerve pain
How spinal cord stimulation works
Spinal cord stimulation (SCS) has been used for more than 55 years to help people manage chronic pain. A small implanted device sends gentle electrical pulses to the spinal cord, interrupting pain signals before they reach the brain.
One of the biggest advantages of SCS is that you can try it first. A short trial shows whether it helps your pain before you decide on a long-term implant.
What makes Evoke different
Every spinal cord is different, and the distance between your spinal cord and the stimulator's leads changes every time you sit, stand, cough, or breathe. Traditional stimulators deliver the same output regardless, so stimulation can feel too strong one moment and too weak the next. Evoke™ SmartSCS™ Therapy measures how your spinal cord responds to each pulse and adjusts automatically.
It listens
Evoke measures your spinal cord's response to stimulation, a signal unique to you, so your therapy is guided by your own nerves.
Personalized to you
Your settings are based on how your nerves actually respond, not a one-size-fits-all program.
Adapts in real time
Evoke adjusts more than 4 million times a day* to keep relief steady as you move through your day.
Backed by long-term evidence
Evoke is supported by the EVOKE study, the only double-blind randomized spinal cord stimulation trial with results out to 3 years.1
In the EVOKE study, after 3 years, 83% of patients had their pain reduced by half or more, and 59% had it reduced by 80% or more.1
Individual results vary.

Your path to relief
-
Consultation
Meet with one of our physicians to review your history, exam, and imaging and decide whether Evoke may be right for you.
-
Trial
Try Evoke for approximately 7 days to see how your body responds and whether it gives you meaningful relief.
-
Implant
If your trial is successful, a small device is placed under the skin in a same-day procedure. Most patients recover in 4 to 8 weeks before resuming normal activity.
-
Follow-up
Your care team checks your progress and fine-tunes your therapy over time to keep your relief consistent.
Is Evoke right for you?
Evoke may be an option if:
- Your pain is constant and has lasted more than six months
- You have chronic, nerve-related pain in your back, legs, or other areas
- You haven't found relief with medications, injections, a traditional spinal cord stimulator, or back surgery such as fusion or laminectomy
Our physicians will review your symptoms, exam, and imaging to determine whether spinal cord stimulation is a good fit for you.
Important safety information
Consult product manuals prior to use.
Indications for Use: The Saluda Medical Evoke® SCS System is indicated as an aid in the management of chronic intractable pain of the trunk and/or limbs, including unilateral or bilateral pain associated with the following: Failed back surgery syndrome; Intractable low back pain and leg pain; Diabetic peripheral neuropathy of the lower extremities.
Contraindications: The Evoke System must not be used in patients who: Do not receive effective pain relief during trial stimulation; Are unable to operate the system; Are unsuitable surgical candidates.
Warnings: Sources of electromagnetic interference (e.g., diathermy, MRI, CT scans, electrosurgery, lithotripsy, external defibrillation, radiation therapy, ultrasonic scanning, high-output ultrasound, TENS, psychotherapeutic procedures, laser procedures) can interact with the system, resulting in unexpected changes in stimulation, serious patient injury or death. An implanted cardiac device (e.g., pacemaker, defibrillator) may damage a neurostimulator, and electrical pulses from the neurostimulator may cause inappropriate response of the cardiac device. Allergic reaction to system components may occur. The Evoke System has not been tested for use in patients who are pregnant or nursing nor in patients under 18 years old. Surgical complications and adverse events may be more frequent and severe in diabetic patients. The physiologic closed-loop controlled (PCLC) stimulation mode and frequencies greater than 1200 Hz have not been evaluated for effectiveness in the diabetic peripheral neuropathy (DPN) population.
Precautions: Patients should avoid manipulating the Evoke System through the skin. Therapy should be discontinued immediately in the event of malfunction or failure of any component of the Evoke system. The severity of any surgical complication may be greater in diabetic patients, particularly those with inadequate pre-operative glycemic control.
Potential Risks: Risks may include, but are not limited to epidural abscess, wound infection, lead breakage/fracture, lead migrations, IPG pocket pain, and muscle spasm or cramp.
Rx Only. Full safety information: saludamedical.com/safety
*Stimulation adjustments are made at the same rate as frequency. 4+ million adjustments per day is based on 50 Hz.
